DAY 03

Kandy   |   Sigiriya

Early morning after breakfast, we visit Sigiriya. History, beauty, architecture, and lush surroundings mingled into one. A world Heritage site (Sth century AD), Sigiriya is an impressive rock fortress and a royal citadel of a king for 18 years.
Later we enjoy the typical village experience. Ox cart rides and canoeing across the lake to a typical Chena cultivation. We prepare a meal, using traditional appliances and share it with the inmates of a typical Sri Lankan village home.

DAY 04

Polonnaruwa   |   Pasikudah

Early breakfast, we are ready for the jeep safari to Minneriya National Park to witness one of nature’s unique phenomena – ‘The Gathering’. (Optional)
We proceed to Polonnaruwa, the 11th & 12′ c medieval capital scattered with shrines and monuments which show an interesting blend of South Indian and Sinhala Buddhist art and architecture. Cycle tour in Polonnaruwa City. (Optional)
Later afternoon we proceed to the east coast and Pasikudah for a relaxing beach stay. A fine bay with clear waters opens to the north. An offshore reef shelters a sandy beach, miles long, and keeps the water calm and clear.

DAY 08

Pasikudah | Nuwara Eliya
Morning we leave for Nuwara Eliya. The nostalgia of the British builders is reflected in Nuwara Eliya- buildings, gardens, landscaping, names etc. We explore Nuwara Eliya, the lake and visit a tea factory to observe tea processing.

DAY 09

Nuwara Eliya  |  Ella  |  Yala

After breakfast, we leave for Yala National park en route we stop at the mesmerizing Ella Gap to observe the panoramic view of the surrounding area and Ravana Falls connected with the Indian epic.

DAY 10

Yala

Early morning safari with packed breakfast.

Yala has beautiful terrain, rocky boulders, scrub jungle, streams, water holes, and lush green patches leading to the East coast. We encounter elephants, spotted Deer, Sambhur, bears and innumerable varieties of birds, among them, peacocks and the endemic Jungle Fowl.
Visit the ancient city of Tissamaharama and see the massive Buddhist monuments such as great Stupas and temples. It is a beautiful village town consisting of temples and a beautiful lake.

DAY 11

Yala   |   Unawatuna

After breakfast, we leave for Unawatuna. Check-in to the hotel.

DAY 12

Unawatuna  |  Galle   |   Unawatuna

Early morning we are greeted by a placid deep blue sea, and a fine reef for snorkelling- very touristic and very inviting amid lush green vegetation.
Later afternoon, we visit Madhu Ganga (river) and take in the ambience of riverside living.
The journey continues with Ambalangoda for masks and masked dancing used in exorcism ceremonies and in low country dancing.
Evening visit to Galle. 17 h century Dutch fortified city with a natural harbour excluding old world charm – a UNESCO heritage site.

DAY 13

Unawatuna   |   Colombo  |  Departure

After breakfast, Leave for Colombo via Kosgoda, a turtle hatchery where turtle eggs are collected, hatched, baby turtles nurtured, numbered and released to the sea.
Check into the hotel in Colombo. Evening free for a short sightseeing tour of Colombo and for last-minute shopping.

Transfer from Colombo to Airport through the airport expressway for departure carrying wonderful memories
